The Whole Pointe

"It seems to me that if a little flower could speak, it would tell simply what God has done for it without trying to hide its blessings....The flower about to tell her story rejoices at having to publish the totally gratuitous gifts of Jesus. She knows that nothing in herself was capable of attracting the divine glances, and His mercy alone brought about everything that is good in her."

-St. Therese of the Little Flower, Story of a Soul

There are so many dancers out there that need encouragement.  Standing in front of a mirror for hours on end, day after day, week after week, can be discouraging.  Even though dancing can be life-giving and life-enhancing, it's meticulous and perfectionistic requirements can be a drain on enjoying this art.

My goal on this blog is to show how dance (ballet in particular) can point to God.  I want to encourage dancers on those days when one more pirouette just doesn't seem worth it.  I want to remind dancers who just got the lead part that God is responsible for the work.

So get out there and dance!  God loves to see His children happy, and when you praise Him with dance, He smiles with joy!
